The ginger is a root that has its origin in Asia, China. This tubercle is born in showy flowers that are supported by slanted scales. It grows well in the central jungle of Peru, certainly in Pichanaqui because of its fertile soil and its varied climate. It is preferred in Latin America as a natural anti-inflammatory especially for respiratory problems. It is also used as a flavoring since it has a sour and spicy flavor that gives the dishes a special touch.
